“Limit” 2019, One strap shoes Performance, 3 hours 20 minutes

IMG_0360.jpg

Erkol questions the organ of movement, starting from walking, the simplest movement that separates one foot from the other for the displacement of our body. Our movements obey the forms into which they are cast. The shape of the shoe dictates the way we move and becomes part of the gender declaration of our identity and even the way we move when we walk, stand or sit. After three hours of performance, since the shoes are clearly designed for feet but not for walking, they become a static object that contradicts itself in its dysfunctionality.
