Neither There Nor Here
Nejbir Erkol presents an imaginative story based on the concepts of safe space, ecology and vulnerability when a mortar shell from the border lands ninety-seven steps away from her house in Nusaybin and fails to explode due to the wetness of the soil from the previous day's rain. The story tells about the resistance and punishment of the hardinggrass that witnessed the incident. While her research on the hardinggrass she collected from the pit, the identity of the grass and its similarity to the people of her own geography form the basis of the performance, her sketches of the grass accompany the performance.
